Merino wool kimono bodysuit for babies
A favourite first-year outfit: warm, adjustable and as gentle as a hug. Easy to put on even the tiniest babies, the kimono gives warmth through the first months, whatever the season.
Babies lose heat quickly, so a well-covered chest and tummy really matter.
Gentle Warmth for Babies: A double-layered tummy part and a well-covered chest keep tiny bodies warm.
Natural Thermoregulation: Merino wool naturally regulates heat and moisture, so your baby stays neither too cold nor too warm, which supports good sleep and healthy growth.
Versatile 2-in-1 Design: The bottom part is removable, so the upper part can be worn on its own as a wool cardigan when the body becomes too small.
Easy to Put On & Take Off: The kimono-style opening makes dressing quick and gentle for parents and babies.
Foldover Sleeves: Built-in mittens keep little hands warm and protected.
Adjustable for Longer Wear: Width and height can be adjusted to grow with your baby.
And when the body gets too small, the top lives on as a little wool cardigan.
What Families Say: “A delightful and easy-to-wear garment. It provides warmth during the first months, no matter the season. And when the body becomes too small, the kimono can still be used as a separate shirt.” (Ruut, Finland)
Gift Idea: Combine with the Wrap Booties and Pixie Hat for a lovely newborn gift set.
Tip: Many families keep two, so one can air and rest while the other is worn.
Why Natural Merino Wool?
Warm Without Overheating: Cosy in the cold and comfortable when the weather turns milder.
Breathable on Active Days: Wool absorbs sweat and lets it evaporate, and stays warm even when damp.
Soft on the Skin: Smooth and comfortable, nothing like the wool jumpers you remember.
Less Washing: Wear daily, wash seldom. Wool naturally resists dirt and odours, and airing outdoors is usually enough.
Sizing
Choose the size by your child's height rather than age. Our sizes are generous and our custom-knitted merino rib has a natural, built-in stretch, so there is no need to size up; between two sizes, take the larger one. Each size spans several stages of growth, so one piece is worn for many months, and often by the next child too.
See our Size Guide for help choosing the right size.
